A cire ma maganar tafiyarta a gefe, wannan bai san dashi ba kuma babu ta yadda za’ayi ya faru.
    Don haka bai jira komai ba sai kawai ya gyaɗa kansa sannan yayi gaba zuwa hanyar dakin dake bayanta.

Tafiya zanyi zuwa wata kasar kuma zan debe tsawon watanni shi yasa nake ganin ya dace ki koma gida, tunda babu wanda zaki zauna kina yiwa aiki, kuma babu amfanin zamanki cikin kabilun nan, gobe zan saka direba ya mayar dake har garinku, ga kaya nan cikin wancan akwatin duk naki ne, ga kuma kudi nan isassau zan bawa Hajiya Mairo da ta kawo ki ta kaiwa iyayenki, nace ta roke su ayi miki aure Zainab, kar su sake tura ki wani wajen gwara ki tafi dakin mijinki ke ma ki samu kwanciyar hankali….”

    Tana kwance tana hango fuskar mahaifiyarta, Allah ya sani bata san me ta fito nema ba, ta san ba wani yanci ta taho samu ba amma haka kurum zuciyarta na jin cewa kamar zata koma ne da wani abun da zata samawa mahaifiyar tata sauki, kamar zata koma da wani abu da zai cire su daga kangin wahalar da suka faɗa tun bayan mutuwar mahaifinta… Sai gashi mafarkinta dama burin nata yana shirin bajewa a iska, ba zata koma da komai ba sai wannan jakar da Hajiya ta nuna mata, jakar da ta san ko meye a ciki bai kai ya canja rayuwarsu ba.

    Wani takaici ya taso ya kara lullube zuciyar Hajiya Mardiyya, ashe da gaske ne daukanta yayi suka fita har asibiti, da taji muryarsa bayan ya ɗauka sai taji kamar zai ce mata yana office ne ko kuma wani waje daban.
    “Jawad a wani hurumin zaka ɗauki yarinya ka kaita asibiti? Ni ban san bata da lafiya bane sai kai?”
    Hannunsa ne ya tsaya daga ƙoƙarin karbar receipt din da wata cashier ke kokarin miko masa bai karba din ba kawai ya tsaya yana sauraren mahaifiyar tasa a lokacin da ta cigaba da cewa.
    “Bata gaya maka cewa yau zata koma garinsu bane? Ko bata gaya maka iyayenta sun aiko suna nemanta bane ko kuma kai baka da aikin da zaka tafi yi ne?”
    A hankali idanunsa suka juya yana hango Zainab din da ya bari daga can kan wasu kujeru na jira, dogon hijabi ne sanye a jikinta, kalar ruwan hoda, fitilun wajen sun haska fuskarta tar da kuma manyan idanuwanta dake ta zarewa tana kalle kallen mutane da kuma abubuwan asibiti, kamar koyaushe, kamar duk lokacin da zai ganta wani abu ya motsa a zuciyarsa, sai kawai ya girgiza kansa sannan yace.

    Ya tsaya a daidai gabanta, yana kallon yadda ta sunkuyar da kanta bayan ya tsaya a gaban nata, yadda zuciyarta ke bugawa a cikin ƙirjinta tana ji kamar zata fito ne ko kuma zai ji ta, Allah-Allah kawai yake yi yace su juya su tafi gida, don duk yadda zuciyarta ta san cewa yana kyautata mata ne har yanzu tana tsoron kasancewarta tare dashi, don bata san wane irin hukunci zata fuskanta a wajen mahaifiyarsa ba idan har ta san irin yadda yake kulawa da ita.
